The Sacred Ritual
The Sacred Ritual is an 8-week journey for Women of Color to cultivate a meditation practice and infuse these skills in their everyday for a deeper sense of calm and knowing— inspired by the constant challenges Minerva hears from her students as to why they cannot develop a meditation practice this course was developed to offer both community and individualized support on the path to practice.
Over the eight weeks the group meets virtually for one hour to learn the week’s intentions, tools and personal exercises homework —offering a community to share experiences, challenges and inspiration. Incorporating a 40-day japa sadhana, which is the repetition of a sanskrit mantra 108 times in each sitting to bring focus and discipline into our meditation practice. A mantra is “that which keeps the mind steady and produces the proper effects” (Yoga Sutra 1.28). Using a mantra to solidify a meditation practice is a simple, yet powerful, way to develop healthy habits of quieting the mind to be able to do the deep work of healing ancestral, systemic and life wounds.
Every week, each woman also gets a 30-minute call with Minerva to check-in on your individual path.
